Happy National Siblings Day!
For those of you who have read my blog in the past, you may have noticed that I mention my “sister” at times, Charlotte, who I visited in England last year. For those of you who know me personally, you know I don’t have any siblings but that Charlotte and I say we’re sisters because we feel like we are. If you’re interested in how we met, you can check out our story in my article, How An App Gave Me A Sister.
If you’ve been keeping up on my last few posts, you might know that Charlotte is visiting me for my 21st birthday in about two weeks! I’ve been doing a lot of planning as for where we’re going to go while she’s here and thought I’d let you know some of my ideas.
We’ll be heading to Chicago for a few days, taking the train with the weekend pass on Metra. We’re going to a Cubs game which will be awesome because both Charlotte and I have never been, and my cousin and his wife will be going! They can explain to us what’s happening in the game lol.
On Groupon, I found a Go City Card which is similar to the Chicago City Pass, and it includes five attractions for $107. We would have gone with the Chicago City Pass, but one of the attractions was Skydeck Chicago which we went to when Charlotte came last time, so we would only be getting four attractions for around the same price. We will be visiting the Art Institute, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, 360 Chicago, and Museum of Science and Industry with the pass. Other things we plan on doing downtown include the Shedd Aquarium, Navy Pier, American Writers Museum, etc.
On the days we aren’t in Chicago, we plan on going to Milwaukee, Lake Geneva, Gurnee Mills Mall, Rosemont for iFLY and the Sugar Factory, etc. One thing I’m really looking forward to is our day trip to Lake Geneva where we’ll be walking around the entire Geneva Lake which is approximately 21 miles and takes around 8 hours. It’ll be a challenge but super fun, and I’ll definitely be writing about it after! If you have any recommendations on other places to visit, be sure to leave a comment.
Time is flying by and soon Charlotte will be here! It sucks that I don’t get to see her all the time like other sisters do, but every time we visit each other, we have a blast and it’s all worth the wait. Happy National Siblings Day everyone!
